Vexel Vizuals = Dave Cook
Vexel is a neologism for an entirely pixel-based form of raster art that imitates the vector graphics technique, but is distinguished from normal vector graphics or raster images. The word itself is derived from a combination of "vector" and "pixel.
This definition of Vexel was found in the online Wikipedia dictionary. Ironically, in early 2004 when I brainstormed the term “Vexel”, there was no definition to be found. There’s nothing about Vexel Vizuals that’s “imitating”. Vexel Vizuals is a fresh, exciting, cutting edge brand of graphics that’s never been witnessed before. I chose it to represent myself because it defines literally, all graphic content viewed on screen or printed. Vexel Vizuals has taken me far beyond what was taught in my college courses to achieve things that could never be experienced in a classroom. Vexel is me, it’s a mixture of my life work, dedication, passion, and my drive to one day become an art director for a highly respected company.
